The changing needs of dental professionals
In an industry of increasing litigation and where there is a decline in experienced dentists which puts added pressure on the remaining practitioners, the importance of good dental indemnity cover is becoming more noticeable.
94% of dentists now feel it is now easier to bring a claim for clinical negligence than ever before
90% said they are increasingly fearful of being sued (Medical Protection Society survey, 2017)
Dentists can no longer rely on a discretionary policy, or basic cover. Protecting your career is your number one priority when it comes to choosing dental indemnity insurance.
Dental Indemnity cover explained
Occurrence based cover means that a claim is based on when it happens, and your policy will still be active for this, even if it is no longer valid. This is different to a claims made policy, which means that when your cover expires, so too does your protection for that period. In these cases, it is wise to choose additional run-off cover – however, that is an additional expense on top of your current dental indemnity insurance.
Contract insurance means that All Med Pro is legally obliged to pay out for valid claims. A discretionary insurance provider, as the name suggests, can choose discretion over which claims to defend or pay out on.
All Med Pro’s dento-legal advisors are also practising dentists which means that when making a claim, you will be speaking to someone who understands your industry, your circumstances and is well positioned to advise on the strengths and weaknesses of your case.
Added peace of mind
You will not need to rely on a professional translating technical jargon. With all informational literature and policy documentation provided in plain English, you can be assured that you will be able to understand what is and what is not covered on your policy.
You can also be assured that All Med Pro will always act in your best interests to provide support and help with minimising costs of any liability case against you. This includes your reputation as well as your wallet.
