The date was 25th July 2011 and a couple of “young” guys wearing suits strolled confidently into their new surroundings that they would come to call home. An old office space the size of a single domestic garage, adjoined to a manufacturing plant at the end of an industrial estate, armed with nothing more than a couple of laptops and an old Motorola phone which they would share to make and receive calls from hundreds – no, thousands of potential clients who would be desperate to come and join the All Med Pro revolution! Or so we thought…
Those early days were great fun, nothing but some good-hearted camaraderie and the yellow pages (and generally learning things the hard way) was an excellent education around starting a business from ground zero.
One of the very first things we set out to do was develop long-lasting affiliate partnerships that would hopefully provide a much-needed route to generate new clients as well as in time, provide us with a network containing a variety of different subject-matter experts that we could refer our own clients to. This would prove to be a very good strategy, as it turns out, and we are delighted that we are very good friends with most of these partners today!
When we chose to start our own Insurance brokerage, the driving force behind the decision was to address what we perceived as shortcomings in the Insurance industry and more specifically, which we saw in the dental and medical product sector. It was an industry that appeared to be starved of any real innovation; products or services offered by Insurance providers over and above the bog-standard Insurance products was minimal and yet, the role an Insurance provider plays in an individual clinician or organisations life can be major.
We were not specifically looking to be revolutionary but if our ideas around doing things differently were revolutionary it only validated our initial perception around the shortcomings of the industry.
Over time our products & services have expanded as well as our team. Two office moves have been needed to support our growth, first in 2016 and then again in 2020.
We have gone from offering clients policies with a few unique features to having well established schemes with more purpose-built covers tailored specifically for the markets they are intended to support. On the clinical negligence side of our business, we offer clients their bread-and-butter Insurance policy, plus access to a large team of around 35 senior healthcare lawyers, experienced clinicians that are qualified as legal advisers and e-learning support through trusted online CPD providers.
Furthermore, since 2018, we have been running our own CPD events across the country which has included holding workshops in the Sky Garden in the famous “Walkie-Talkie” building in London as well as a number of hands-on Dental Implant workshops designed to help improve dentists’ skills in a higher risk area of their clinical practise. For these events we bring together a collection of the best clinical experts, lawyers, CQC experts and insurance professionals to deliver high-quality content across the day, all of which is CPD verifiable.
Today we are proud to have long-lasting affiliate partners, strong insurer relationships, direct access to several insurers which many other brokers simply cannot access and the capacity to wholesale some of our products to other brokers that require help in placing certain types of business.
We remain extremely dynamic in our approach to supporting clients and this is illustrated each and every day by the All Med Pro team. 2020 Has been a year where this dynamism has really come to the fore and we have, thanks to the support of our insurer partners, been able to provide several flexible solutions to support businesses that have been closed due to Covid-19 as well as clients who have seen their working hours reduce and as such, have had difficulties in paying their premiums.
Despite the difficulties of 2020, it has been a year which has seen good growth and, whilst we recognise the challenges that remain ahead, we are confident that our commitment to being innovative in how we support our clients will see us continue to help more customers in their time of need.
Going forward we have an ambitious growth strategy that will see a further expansion of our team, creating new roles in the business which are designed to better support our clients across with all aspects of their journey with All Med Pro.
It is this constant drive for innovation, excellence in client support and happiness that will ultimately create the type of company our team and clients love being part of.
